Greenbelt

I'm at the Greenbelt Festival, writing jokes for Last Orders, the late night comedy chat show, presented by Jude Adam and Andy Turner.

There is a very good chance that I'm the only Calvinist on site. But I relish that. I'm enjoying being part of a Christian mix that I'm not normally part of. I've got a lot to learn and understand. And even if I don't agree with many folk here on much (and I probably don't), there's are some interesting discussions and debates that are good to be in on.

Last night, I had a lengthy discussion with a delightful post-evangelical lady who couldn't quite believe that I believe in male headship within the family. There were a whole load of presuppositions (on both sides) that made it really interesting. Being exposed to people who really believe different things (rather than reading about them) really keeps you on your toes.

The theme of the festival seems to be climate change. Tomorrow night, there's a twenty minute carbon vigil. I don't really know what to make of that. Actually, I think I do. But again, are Reformed Evangelicals really interested in good stewardship of the earth?

Well, that depends whether you mean Reformed Evangelical Postmillenialists or not.

Billy Bragg AND Over the Rhine on the Friday night? It's almost worth becoming a post evangelical for that alone.
